Never accept gifts from your sources. The Collegian strives to avoid even the appearance of bias, and it is a violation of journalistic ethics to accept anything of value from a source.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Letting a source buy you dinner
  • Accepting free or complimentary passes to an event outside the scope of your reporting
  • Accepting anything of value from a source or subject of reporting
