Anonymous sources

35 views 0

Sometimes, a newspaper will run a story with quotes from someone who does not want to be identified, a source who wishes to remain anonymous to protect themselves from some perceived threat, such as being physically harmed or fired from their job.

As standard practice, The Collegian does not allow the use of anonymous sources. As a general rule, do not promise any of your sources that they will be able to remain anonymous without consulting the editor-in-chief and Collegian administration.
